Dear SCSD Families, Caregivers, & Students,
Given the extreme heat and high temperatures expected this week, we are going to adjust our daily schedules. Please be aware that on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, and Thursday, June 20, 2024, we will move to half-day dismissal times for all elementary and middle school students. Our high school programming will remain as currently scheduled, and all Regents testing will be held as scheduled. All after school programming will be canceled on these days, as well.
Our half day schedules are as follows:
Elementary Schools: 7:45 a.m. arrival- 11:10 a.m. dismissal
Middle Schools: 8:30 a.m. arrival- 11:45 a.m. dismissal
Students will be provided with lunch prior to dismissal.
Please note that in all areas where our buildings remain open for students, we will have bottled water, ice water stations, will change rooms (where possible) to cooler locations, and additional will be provided.
We will provide additional information on community resources available this week.
As a reminder, there is no school this Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in observance of Juneteenth.
We will monitor the weather for Friday and will update you with any changes.
