Mental Health

Mental Health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, how we feel, and act. It also determines how we handle stress, how we relate to others and how we make choices.

Mental Health is just as important as Physical Health.

Can we talk about our children's Mental Health?

The signs of stress and mental health challenges can be different for every child and teen. Younger children may show signs of developmental progression while older children may show signs in other ways.

Adolescence is a crucial period for developing and maintaining social and emotional habits important for mental well-being. These include adopting healthy sleep patterns; taking regular exercise; developing coping, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; and learning to manage emotions.

Recognizing signs and understanding mental health needs in our children can be very stressful for parents and guardians. You are not Alone! The Crisis Prevention Team is here to assist you with any questions and/or information related to your child's mental health.
