In the Schenectady City School District, we offer several different pathways designed to engage your child in challenging and meaningful academic programs. Whether your student is interested in the Arts, Career and Technical Education (CTE), Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS), Civics, Humanities, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), or World Languages, we have an approved pathway that helps them meet graduation requirements. These options ensure that each student can pursue their passions while receiving a rigorous and relevant education.

Under the "4+1" pathway assessment option, students must take and pass four required Regents Exams (English, Math, Science and Social Studies) OR a Department-Approved Alternative assessments (one in each of the following subjects: (english language arts, mathematics, science and social studies). They must also complete a comparably rigorous fifth assessment, to meet the "plus one" requirement for graduation.
