Jocelyn Hoffmann, Humanities, Communications, and Advocacy Leadership Community Principal
Ms. Jocelyn Hoffmann joined the Schenectady City School District in 2016. She served as Assistant Principal to the Classes of 2017 and 2021, Cohort Principal for the Classes of 2021 and 2025, and most recently, Cohort Principal for the Humanities, Communications, and Advocacy Leadership Community. In this role, her mission is to build upon student knowledge to make meaningful connections between school and real-life experiences that empower students to be flexible leaders and problem solvers through critical reading, writing, speaking, listening, and culture. She is committed to student success.
Ms. Hoffmann started her teaching career in 2001 with the Brunswick Central School District in Troy, New York. She taught French in grades 7-12, and served as Department Chair for World Language while with BCSD. She led several groups of students overseas on trips to France and Spain in 2005, 2007, 2011, and 2015.
Ms. Hoffmann earned her BA at UAlbany with a major in French and a minor in Teacher Education. She earned a scholarship for academic achievement and won the “Prix de L’Ambassade de France” award. Ms. Hoffmann studied abroad at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. She went on to get her MS in Education at UAlbany, with a major in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology. She holds NYS Certifications in School Building Leadership and School District Leadership, both earned through UAlbany’s Advanced Graduate Certification programs.
