EVALUATIONS FOR PRINCIPALS

  1. The principal and the superintendent designee agree to focus on ten (10) elements for a given school year from the MPPR rubric. All evaluations will be managed through the supereval.

    • At least one (1) element from each of the six (6) domains, and at least two (2) other elements and (2) additional elements in domain 2 and domain 3.

    • Over the course of three years all facets of the rubric will be covered.

  2. Probationary Principals 

    • At least (3) formal school visits for the purpose of evaluation will be conducted each year, one of which must be unannounced.

      • The first formal school visit by the Superintendent/Assistant to Superintendent will be held between October 1st and December 1st.

      • The unannounced school visit will occur within 30 school days after the completion of the first formal school visit post-conference.

      • The second formal school visit will be held between February 15th and April 15th.

      • No observation two days before or after an extended recess, one day before or after any individual holiday.

      • Post meetings of observation must be held within seven school days of observation
         

  3. Tenured Principals 

    • Two (2) formal school visits for the purpose of evaluation will be conducted each year, one of which must be unannounced.

      • The first formal school visit by the Superintendent designee will be held between October 1st and May 1st. 

      • A post-visit conference will occur within 15 school days of this school visit

      • The unannounced school visit shall occur within 30 school days of the completion of the formal school visit post-conference

      • No observation two days before or after an extended recess, one day before an individual holiday.

      •   Post meetings of observation must be held within seven school days of observation
