The 14th Annual Girls Day Out was held on Thursday at the University at Albany. Girls from Schenectady High School, SCLA, Central Park, Mont Pleasant and Oneida were engaged in a day of female empowerment and group learning workshops. The young ladies also discussed the creation and launch of a district "My Sister's Keeper" program. Stay tuned for more. Meanwhile, watch the video of highlights from Girls Day Out. Thank you to all who worked so hard to put this fantastic day together for our young ladies.
Yesterday we partnered with United Way, Siena College, Russell Sage and Partners for Campus-Community Engagement for "Engage for Change 2023" held at Siena. Thank you to Kayla Ambesi, SCSD Community School Coordinator, who led a morning workshop, and to our Community School Team for the participation at the event and making us shine.
This week I met with Trent Griffin-Braaf, CEO and founder of Tech Valley Shuttle, who is a 2003 graduate of Schenectady High School. We discussed how we might partner and utilize his transportation company.
