8th Grade Summer Program August 14-25
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers of Incoming 8th Graders,
We are pleased to let you know that the Schenectady City School District will be holding a Summer Program exclusively for incoming 8th graders. The program will be held weekdays, August 14-25 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Oneida Middle School. There is no cost for your child to attend. This opportunity is offered as part of a new grant program called GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) which is a national initiative designed to help students prepare for college beginning in 8th grade.
We will also be holding a kick-off information session on the last day of camp August 25, 2023 at 5 p.m. at Oneida Middle School. Parents and their 8th graders are invited to attend and learn more about GEAR UP and how your child will benefit from this opportunity throughout 8th grade.
