More than 350 Dads Bring Children to School Thursday
"Dads bring our children to school day" was a huge success. 354 dads and male figures representing four Schenectady community schools, Hamilton, King, Paige and Keane, brought their kids to school Thursday. While students posed for a photo and then headed to class, their dads spent part of their morning engaging with one another, school leadership and the school parent liaisons.
This nationwide fatherhood engagement event began in 2007 as an outreach initiative to help fathers engage in their children's education. It presents an opportunity for dads to get to know one another and for schools to get to know the dads and encourage their involvement through out the year. We look forward to see the dads back on campus soon.
