The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance deadline for residents in the Schenectady City School District to enroll for direct deposit of tax credits is August 2.
New York State expects to begin issuing STAR credit (payments) to eligible homeowners in mid-August.
If the state has the information necessary to issue your STAR credit and you are eligible, you can expect to receive your credit before September 3rd, which is the due date for the 2024 School Year Bill Installment 1.
Those who receive a STAR exemption will receive a reduction on the 2024 School Tax Bill. It will be reflected as "Less STAR Savings".

The Schenectady City School District can not provide information regarding homeowner eligibility for the STAR program or other benefits. You must contact New York State.

2024 School Tax bills will be mailed on July 31st, the first installment will be due by September 3, 2024.
