Safety Note:
Over the weekend we learned that a student who attends Big Picture at Washington Irving threatened another student on Snapchat. The student threatened to bring a gun to school and harm the student. Police were immediately notified and launched an investigation. Schenectady Police located, arrested and charged the student. Police issued a release this morning.
Members of our Student Support Team will be at Big Picture Monday to provide additional support to students. We will have additional safety and administrative team members at Washington Irving on Monday morning.
Police reported that no gun was located during the investigation and there is no indication that there are any additional threats to student safety
Safety is always our top priority. Thank you to those who shared information and to all of you for your continued support and cooperation. Please continue to remind students if they see or hear anything that seems suspicious to always report it to an adult.
